Blog #11:

THE RESEARCH SPEECH CONTINUED

This whole entire week in ISM was spent finishing up our research speeches. The speeches were all about 10 minutes in length and it took some time to set each one up and be ready, so we could not get more than six students in one class period to give their speeches, especially because some people (even me) went over the time limit. I feel very enlightened by these research speeches.Learning about everyone else’s topics of study was very interesting to me because… well, it wasn’t physical therapy. It was nice to have a break from receiving information only about physical therapy. Instead, over the course of the week, I learned new things about speech pathology, cyber security, art, business, and even Biblical counseling. It was refreshing to hear all these wide varieties of study topics and learn fascinating things about them. What I love most about this class was how passionate everyone sounded about their research - it was both comforting and inspiring. I think my speech went pretty well, I’m sure I talked a bit fast (because I was nervous) and I didn’t get my conclusion across how I wanted to, but overall I am proud of how my presentation went. Now that we’ve concluded our research speeches, I’m ready for a fresh new week in ISM.
