This week in ISM consisted of our first research speeches of the year! I am very excited about it because I love public speaking and giving speeches. On Monday, we spent most of the class period creating our scripts and our visual aids for our speeches. I am actually pretty happy with how my visual aid turned out, I think it’s very aesthetically pleasing and I like the formatting I used. On Wednesday, the kids in ISM II went and presented their speeches. I really enjoyed listening to them talk about their topic of study, but my favorite part was when they talked about their mentor visits and past experiences with mentors. They all seemed like they were so much fun and they provided so much interesting and valuable information and hearing about the other student’s experiences with them just increased my own excitement to get a mentor and have mentor visits. I am not confident that I will be able to have those experiences because of COVID restrictions, but I am hopeful nonetheless. I will be giving my speech on Friday, and I am very excited to go. I will spend tonight preparing for it and making any last minute changes. I am, once again, excited for this upcoming week in ISM.
