I was very much correct in the assumption I made last week that this week in ISM would be just as wild and insightful. I actually ended up exceeding my expectations for it, because this week in ISM, I participated in an event called the Business Symposium. This was a mass Zoom call involving my fellow ISM I students, ISM II students, Coach Goff, and many various professionals whom we would be interviewing with. I had the good fortune of participating in interviews with the likes of Stacy Graham (Inteliquent), Travis McWaters (PEPSICO) and Tiffany Carey (FISD). I was given a multitude of good insights from these professionals, and the most common theme among all of them was that what their full time career ended up being was most definitely not what they wanted to do when they were around my age now. I found this particular trend very interesting because I made me think - will this happen to me? To my fellow ISM I and II students? And if it does, what will we actually end up doing and what changed? The prospect of the future is so exciting to me because I will be completely unable to answer those questions until the events of my career paths eventually unfold. I am excited to experience another upcoming week of enlightenment in ISM.
