THE QUEST FOR A MENTOR

During this week in ISM, we have been discussing the process of reaching out to professionals in our fields, setting up interviews, and going over how to ask them to be your mentor. This process is so exciting to me! I am so elated that I get to interview three professionals who are currently living my dreams. I can not wait to learn all about what their lives at their job is like, what their schooling was like, and what they see in the future of physical therapy. Interviewing three different people will give me the opportunity to see these things from three slightly different viewpoints, which will educate me and expand my horizon of knowledge about my topic. I’m very excited to conduct an interview, I was interviewed once for my job at Massage Green and again when I took my Professional Communications class, but I’ve never been the interviewer. I am also very excited to write an Interview Assessment, as I feel like it will be a nice new challenge since I’ve gotten more comfortable with writing my Research Assessments. Until I can write my first Interview Assessment, I want to explore what the future of physical therapy looks like and use that as my topic when I write my next Research Assessment. I am very excited for my next week in ISM.
